Goa Beaches

Anjuna Beach, Goa The Indian state of Goa is a complete tourists' delight. The breathtakingly beautiful blue waters of the ocean, rich cultural heritage, temples, churches and opulent food, Goa has it all. One of the smallest states in India, Goa was a portuguese colony until 1962, which shows well in the culture and architecture of the state. The unparalleled combination of mystifying weather, fabulous Fenni and the matchless nightlife draw many visitors to this beach capital. Tourists leave the place with fond memories only to come back over and again.

The beaches of Goa are a reflection of its vivid past and vibrant present. A vacation in Goa is incomplete without a day of relaxation on the beach, laying back, feeling the touch of the velvety beach sand beneath you and may be sipping on a glass of chilled fenni under the sun. The beaches of Goa offer everything from serene enviorns to unending parties.

Famous Beaches in Goa
Goa is the beach capital of India. With over 100 km. of coastline with long palm fringed trees, the state has on offer some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Adventure lovers can enjoy some exciting water sports including paragliding and water skiing.

Baga Beach, Goa» Anjuna Beach
The Anjuna village is situated in north Goa about 18 km. from the capital of the state, Panaji. The beach is popular around the world for its trans parties, started by the hippies who tried to combine the traditions, art and music of the east with that of the west. The Anjuna beach, which was discovered by a group of travellers, is the place if you like to be a part of the party that never ends.

» Baga Beach
Baga is a small beach situated in north Goa near the famous Calangute beach. The beach with brown sand is the place to be if you don't like partying much and want to enjoy some peaceful moments. The main attraction of the Baga beach are the Baga Retreat House, Water Sports and the Crocodile and Dolphin spotting tours.

» Benaulim Beach
Benaulim is a quite and tranquil beach, about 40 km. from Panaji. It is believed that Benaulim is the place where Lord Parasuram landed when he created Goa. It still remains a rather secluded beach offering the tourists a peaceful atmosphere unlike some other beaches in the state. The main attractions of Benaulim include Nossa Senhora de Merces (Our Lady of Mercy) Church, bull fight and the Church of St John.

Calangute Beach » Colva Beach
Colva is one of the most famous of all the Goan beaches. With 20 km. of white sand, the beach is famous for its scenic splendor. Given the title of the 'Queen of the Beaches', Colva has been the favourite beach spot for tourists from around the world. The temperature here ranges from 24 to 37 degrees celcius during the summers and 21 to 32 during the winters.

» Calangute Beach
Calangute is one of the most happening beaches in Goa and justifies why Goa is called the beach capital of India. Being one of the most popular tourist spots in India, Calangute provides the tourists with additional attractions including shopping from the Kashmiri and Tibetan handicraft stalls set up along the road that leads to the beach. Water sports and eating joints lining the beach are a huge draw for tourists.
