Day 01: Arrival: Cochin
On
your arrival at Cochin you will be greeted by our executive/representative
and transferred to the hotel/resort. Later in the afternoon proceed for a
local tour of Cochin city, - Jewish Synagogue, the 400-year-old synagogue,
which is the oldest in the Commonwealth Countries. The interiors have
exquisite hand painted Chinese tiles and Belgian Chandeliers. St. Francis
Church - The first European church in India, Chinese Fishing Nets - The
huge, elegant fishing nets, The Dutch Palace - built by the Portuguese in
1557and later occupied and renovated by the Dutch. In the evening
rejuvenate your body and mind with our Complimentary Body Massage. Over
night stay at Cochin.
Day 02: Cochin- Alleppey (65 kms) / Alleppey - Kumarakom (Backwater
Cruise)
Morning after breakfast, check out from the resort and drive to Alleppey.
Alleppey is one of the major centers for backwater boat trips. The
intricate network of canals through this town has earned it the sobriquet
"The Venice of the East". At Alleppey board a private rice boat
or house boat and cruise through the narrow canals and wide lakes enjoying
the scenic natural beauty - coconut trees, rice patties, small villages.
Food and over night stay on houseboat.
Day 03: -Kumarakom
Morning after breakfast, relax on houseboat, and by this time you would
have reached Kumarakom. Kumarakom- a place undoubtedly the most
invigorating, fascinating paradise in Kerala, slumbers on the banks of the
famous Vembanad Lake. On arrival, check in at the backwater resort, and
spend the remaining part of the day enjoying your stay on the banks of the
backwaters. Over night stay at Kumarakom.
Day 04: - Kumarakom - Periyar (116 kms)
After breakfast, check out from resort and commence your scenic travel
past mist capped mountains, spice plantations and open grasslands lined
with spectacular water falls to Periyar, also known as Thekkady. If you
are interested in looking forward to having a closer look at the wild side
of life, then a visit to the Periyar Wildlife Park and Tiger Reserve is a
must.
On arrival, check in at resort, and spend time relaxing. Later in the
afternoon a safari on the Periyar Lake extends a lifetime's chance to spot
exotic wildlife in its natural habitat - like the eccentric bathing habits
of the wild elephants that come down to the lake. Over night stay Periyar.
Day 05: Periyar
An
early morning trip through the Wildlife Park and Periyar Tiger Reserve
might get you the opportunity to meet the beast. Trekking with a local
guide familiarizes you to the rare birds, trees & flowers that you
come across here. You can even set upon a walk through the plantations
filled with the heady fragrance of fresh spice. Some of the inhabitants of
the Park include the leopard, wild dog, barking deer, mouse deer, Nilgiri
langur (a primate), bonnet macaque, sambhar, porcupines, squirrels, gaur
(Indian bison), wild boar and sloth bear. The unusual species found at
Periyar include the flying lizard and the flying snake.

Day 07: Periyar - Kodaikanal (150 kms)
After Morning breakfast, check out resort and proceed to Kodaikanal.
Kodaikanal is One of India's best-known Hill stations. On arrival check in
at the hotel and rest of the afternoon is at leisure. In the evening you
could go boating at the Kodai Lake. Over night stay at Kodaikanal.
Day 08: Kodaikanal
After breakfast, the entire day is for a local tour of Kodaikanal.The
main attractions in Kodaikanal includes Coaker's Walk -Some of the best
views of the plains can be seen from here. Bryant Park- situated on the
eastern side of the lake, it is noted for flowers, hybrids and rafts,
Kodai Astrophysical Observatory, Bear Shola Falls- An ideal picnic spot
located 1.6-km from the lake, which can be reached by a picturesque,
rugged hill path. Fairy Falls, Pillar Rocks -three boulders standing
shoulder - to - shoulder vertically measuring to a height of about 122
metres, providing a panoramic view. Green Valley View and Silver Cascade
Waterfalls. The Kodai Lake is also another major attraction. Over night
stay at Kodaikanal.
Day 09: Kodaikanal - Madurai (82 kms)
After breakfast enjoy another half-days tour of Kodaikanal. In the
afternoon, check out resort and drive to Madurai-, the second largest city
in TamilNadu. It is famous for the Meenakshi Temple with its towering
gopurams and rare sculptures. On arrival at Madurai, check in at hotel and
relax leisurely. In the evening visit the famous Madurai Meenakshi Temple.
Over night stay at Madurai.
Day 10: Madurai - Trichy - Thanjavur (160 kms)
After morning breakfast, check out hotel and drive to Trichy. Trichy
situated on the banks of the Cauvery River is famous for its Rock Fort and
its temple at a height of over 83 meters. The most amazing fact about the
rock is that it is one of the oldest in the world - approximately 3,800
million years, which makes it as old as the rocks of Greenland and older
than the Himalayas. Later in the afternoon, drive to Thanjavur. Thanjavur,
the Granary of South India, is famous for the Brahadeeswarar Temple. The
temple, which was constructed more than thousand years ago by the King
Rajarajan, is an architect's marvel. It is a flourishing centre for bronze
sculpture and painting. Lying in the deltaic region of the famous river
Cauvery and cris-crossed by lengthy network of irrigation canals,
Thanjavur is also known as the ' Rice Bowl ' of Tamil Nadu. On arrival at
Tanjore, check in at the hotel and spent some time at leisure relaxing. In
the evening visit the famous Brahadeeswarar Temple. Over night stay at
Thanjavur.
Day 11: Thanjavur - Pondicherry (170 kms)
After
breakfast in the morning, check out hotel and drive to Pondicherry.
Pondicherry, a relatively peaceful town as far as tourist movement goes,
is an enchanting and fascinating place. Whether you are looking for a
romantic rendezvous or a fun filled resort vacation, Pondicherry can
accommodate all of your gateway desires.
En-route to Pondicherry, you can visit Chidambram, a city renowned for
its famous Nataraja Temple. One of the holiest cities in India,
Chidambaram is visited by thousands of pilgrims throughout the year.
On arrival at Pondicherry, check in at the hotel and spend the afternoon
at leisure. In the evening you could visit the Sri Aurobindo Ashram. It's
a unique spiritual concept revolving around offering work as a Divine
offering. The activities of the ashram include the development of art,
culture, and spiritually, besides agriculture and cottage industries. Over
night stay at Pondicherry.
Day 12: Pondicherry
After breakfast in the morning, you could enjoy the entire day on the
beautiful beaches of Pondicherry. The pick among the beaches are: Serenity
Beach- the ambience is well captured in its name, and is ideal for a quick
dip and for sun bathing. The Plage Paradiso beach: 8kms from the town,
along Cuddalore Main Road, lies this stretch of tropical paradise. A
short, pleasant cruise into the sea from here could reward you with the
memorable sight of playful dolphins in natural habitat, horsing around.
Over night stay at Pondicherry.
Day 13: Pondicherry -Mahabalipuram - Chennai (160 kms)
After breakfast in the morning, check out hotel and drive to Chennai. On
the way visit Mahabalipuram, a 7th century port city of the South Indian
dynasty of the Pallavas. It has various historic monuments built largely
between the 7th and the 9th century, and has been classified as a UNESCO
World Heritage Site. On arrival at Chennai, check in at hotel and the rest
of the evening is at leisure. Late in the evening you could visit one of
the Pubs in Chennai and enjoy your time partying and dancing. Over night
stay at Chennai.
Day 14: Chennai
Morning
after breakfast, you can enjoy a days local tour of Chennai. Amongst the
must visits in Chennai, is The Marina Beach - the second longest beach in
the world. The gorgeous golden sands invite innumerable tourists
especially during the evenings. The British East India Company's St.
George Forte is a famous landmark of Chennai. Another colonial structure
in the city of Chennai worth visiting is the Santhome Cathedral. The
evening is at leisure for shopping. Over night stay at Chennai.
Day 15: Depature:
After breakfast in the morning check out hotel and drive to airport for
your onward journey.
