Destinations : Cochin - Munnar - Periyar - Kumarakom - Alleppey
Day 01 : Arrival : Cochin -Munnar (127 kms)
On
arrival at Cochin airport you will be greeted by our
executive/representative. You will then proceed to Munnar by road. Munnar
the nature lovers paradise, with panoramic views of low flying
clouds & mist filled valleys make it a pretty little heaven. On
arrival at Munnar check in at the resort and the rest of the day is for
relaxation and leisure. Over night stay at Munnar.
Day 02 : Munnar
After morning breakfast, enjoy the entire day visiting the beautiful
tourist spots of Munnar. Some of the places to visit are : Mattupetty-a
specialized dairy farm, where over 100 varieties of high yielding cattle
are reared. The Mattupetty Lake and Dam is also a very beautiful picnic
spot. Devikulam- an idyllic hill station with its velvet lawns, exotic
flora and fauna and with the cool mountain air is a rare experience.
Rajamalai- The natural habitat of the Niligiri tahr. Half the world's
population of the rare mountain goat or tahr, which is fast becoming
extinct, is found here. Eravikulam National Park- this park is
breathtakingly beautiful and is easily comparable to the best mountain
ranges found anywhere in the world.
Over night stay at Munnar.
Day 03 : Munnar - Periyar (60 kms)
After morning breakfast, check out resort and proceed to Periyar.
Periyar, also known as Thekkady, is well known for its wildlife. On
arrival check in at resort/hotel and later proceed for a trip to the
Periyar Wildlife Park- one of the most captivating wildlife parks not only
in India but also in the world. The Wildlife Park is a veritable paradise
of elephants. Other inhabitants of the Park include the leopard, wild dog,
barking deer, mouse deer, Nilgiri langur (a primate), bonnet macaque,
sambhar, porcupines, squirrels, gaur (Indian bison), wild boar and sloth
bear. In the evening you could take an optional boat ride at the Periyar
Lake, which lies at the heart of the sanctuary. Over night stay at
Periyar.
Day 04 : Periyar - Kumarakom (116 kms)
After morning breakfast, check out resort and proceed to Kumarakom.
Kumarakom is an important backwater destination of Kerala. On arrival
check in at a backwater resort and spend the afternoon leisurely. In the
evening proceed for a sight seeing trip of Kumarakom backwaters, the
jewels of kerala. Over night stay at Kumarokom.
Day 05 : Kumarakom - Backwater cruise
After morning breakfast, check out backwater resort and transfer to Deluxe
house boat to take a 24hrs Backwater Tour. Kerala's backwaters are the
most popular tourist attractions of Kerala. Enjoy the panoramic views of
paddy fields, narrow canals and coconut lagoons along the state's
palm-fringed backwaters that are inland lakes connected by a network of
canals. Food and over night stay at the houseboat.
Day 06 : Alleppey - Cochin (64 kms)
After morning breakfast, check out houseboat. By the time the houseboat
would have reached Alleppey. From Alleppey drive to Cochin. On arrival
check in at hotel/resort and later in the afternoon proceed for a local
tour of Cochin. The main tourist attractions of Cochin are : The Jewish
Synagogue, the 400-year-old synagogue, which is the oldest in the
Commonwealth Countries. The interiors have exquisite hand painted Chinese
tiles and Belgian Chandeliers. St. Francis Church - The first European
church in India, Chinese Fishing Nets - The huge, elegant fishing nets,
The Dutch Palace - built by the Portuguese in 1557and later occupied and
renovated by the Dutch. In the evening, rejuvenate your body and mind with
our Complimentary Body Massage. Over night stay at Cochin.
Day 07 : Departure
After morning breakfast, check out hotel and proceed to airport for your
onward destination.
